Title - Tin-relief decorations in European late medieval art: the challenges of applied brocade

The session is planned as a 60-minute online meeting.
Two professionals from different parts of Europe have been invited as keynote speakers will give detailed talks:
- Ingrid Geelen
- Sophie Kirkpatrick
Learning objectives of this online session.
- Offer a broad art historical frame for applied brocade, a specific form of tin-relief decoration
- Provide insight into the technique and materials employed for applied brocade.
- Understanding the degradation of polychrome tin foils in the Ghent Altarpiece and
- other medieval artworks.
- Point out the practical and ethical problems in the treatment of applied brocade.
