ICOM-CC Young Member Grant to attend an 2024 International Committee Meeting

As in previous years, ICOM is committed to supporting the inclusive participation of its members, through a specific program of grants which will enable young members to actively participate in the organisation’s activities. The Grant provides assistance up to the amount of € 1200 for reasonably-priced Economy Class airfare and accommodation for in-person attendance to the full 3 days of the meeting: “MUSEUM STORAGE. Current situation and new challenges”.

Visa costs, insurance coverage, local transportation, meals and other expenses related to member participation at the meeting are not covered by this grant, under any circumstance.

ICOM-CC will subsidize one grant of € 1200 to contribute to costs to attend the ICOM event “Museum Storage” on the 29th-31st October 2024 at the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris, France.

Eligibility Criteria:

40 years of age or younger (as of 31 December 2024).
Able to write and understand English fluently.
Full-time museum employees.
Applicants who and work in a country belonging to categories 3, 4, or 5 as defined in the ICOM grid will be given priority for travel grants. The grid is available at:

- - Only applicants who have paid their ICOM membership dues for 2022, 2023 and 2024 may apply.
  - Be able to travel to attend the event in person. The grant may not cover all costs for attendance and any expense over € 1200 must be supplemented by the grant recipient.
  - Preference will be given to actively involved ICOM-CC members.
  - For the awarding of grants, priority will be given to applicants who clearly explain the benefits they will gain in attending the meeting.
  - To ensure equitable distribution of resources, applicants who have received grants during the past three years (2021, 2022 and 2023) will not be given priority in 2024. Priority will also be given to applicants who obtain other sources of funding to facilitate their attendance.Applicants must be individual members of ICOM and voting members of ICOM-CC.

500-word statement of the applicant’s reasons for attending the meeting.
- Explain your interest in attending the meeting and the benefits you expect to derive from it;
- Detail your involvement with ICOM-CC and how it has impacted your professional development.
Curriculum Vitae from the candidate indicating training, work experience, publications and current work responsibilities (one page maximum);
