Papers for ICOM-CC conferences
Dear colleagues
After the last triennial meeting of ICOM-CC in Lisbon, I was struck by what for me is one of the major problems with ICOM. To rewind a little, I have noticed the reduction in participation from many scientists/conservation scientists and other professionals in our area in the metals WG. I believe some of the reasons are:
1. ICOM demands un-published material to be presented
2. The preprints are limited, not available in major libraries, etc;
consequence:
professionals prefer to present their unpublished material where there will be much more output of their information.
Really makes sense, so why not propose a change in this rule from ICOM's side?
Or any other suggestions? This may be a very important issue for the future of our working groups and maintaining high standards of work.
Best wishes
