Please join the ICON Ethnography Group for our forthcoming one day conference:
Scraping Gut and Plucking Feathers: the Deterioration and Conservation of Feather and Gut Materials Date: Tuesday 6th October 2009; Location: University of York, Huntingdon Room
The conference encompasses the presentation of papers and posters which will cover colour aberrations, mutations and the morphology of feathers. It will also include presentations on cleaning and repair techniques as well as on display issues for both feather and gut materials. The day will conclude with a practical demonstration and discussion on the subject of conserving feathers led by Allyson Rae.
The cost of the conference is £70 for ICON members, £80 for non-members and £60 for a limited number of student places. 50 - 60 places are available.
